Mimi is Head of Production at FilmOne Distribution and Production largest Distribution/Production Company in West Africa, prior to this, was Head of Accounts for Nollywood and Independent Hollywood titles.

FilmOne is also home to Warner Bros, 20th Century FOX, Empire Entertainment and premium Nollywood content including West Africa’s biggest box office local content movie - The Wedding Party 1&2. Mimi also holds a 2:1 Business Administration degree from Cambridge Seminars College.

Amongst other notable efforts, Mimi spearheaded the distribution of 70% of the all-time top 10 box office releases in Nigeria. Her first ever story was developed for a comedy film franchise, Fate of Alakada and produced her first film, Kambili: The Whole 30 yards, Mimi has gone ahead and produced 7 films after that and working on all the top Nigerian movies of 2020 as a consultant and Producer. Credits include- Co-Executive Producer, Producer, Co-producer.

Mimi Bartels also ran an award nominated blog - Miseducation of Mimi, currently being developed into a 6 episode series, worked with the National Broadcasting Commission and started her career in banking.

Mimi is happily married with a son.
