Stella Albright

Born to Nigerian parents and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Stella Albright began her college education in London, England which she completed in California State University, Dominguez Hills, California where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1982.  In 1984, she earned an MBA in Finance from Loyola Marymount University, Westchester CA.


Stella began her professional career as Administrator of a medical group in Los Angeles from 1985-1989 where she was also responsible for marketing and significantly increasing the revenue of the medical group.

Stella attended Whittier Law School in Los Angeles where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 1992. She is  currently a partner at Albright, Yee & Schmit, a professional corporation with 8 attorneys. Stella has practiced in the areas of entertainment, labor and employment law, (including but not limited to wrongful discharge, sexual harassment and discrimination based on race and gender) and general business litigation.
 
Stella is also a consultant to The Silverbird Group, a family-owned diversified multi-media company in Nigeria with holdings in Radio, Television, Real Estate, Film Distribution and Cinemas. Stella works closely with the board of directors and instrumental in the overall strategy and implementation of the vision of the Silverbird group particularly in the areas of Film Distribution and Cinema. Stella has successfully negotiated exclusive film distribution rights for Sony movies for the territory of West Africa for the last 13 years. More recently, S.F.D. acquired the rights to distribute UIP titles for the same territory. As part of its expansion plan, Stella has started to forge partnerships for co-production opportunities with Nollywood producers not only for theatrical release in Africa but on a global platform.
 
Stella is also President of Silverbird Distribution International Inc, which acquires movies from independent studios worldwide for distribution in Africa.
 
Stella is married with 3 sons.
