The Award winning actress and producer Joke Silva was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria.

She took part in several BBC Africa radio dramas and had a stint at the Royal Court Theatre Sloan Square as an actress whilst studying Dramatic Arts at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in the early 80’s.

Joke has featured in many award-winning films like POTATO POTAHTO, THE SECRET LAUGHTER OF WOMEN, PHONE SWAP, TANGO WITH ME, WHITE WATERS to name a few.

Her career in the film industry has spanned over 3 decades and she is highly respected for the memorable roles she plays on stage and on screen, which she has received several awards for.

Besides her career as a performer, Joke co-owns Lufodo Group, which consists of Lufodo Academy Of Performing Arts and Lufodo Productions. Lufodo is responsible for topnotch productions within and outside Nigeria and has groomed many of the most well respected artists in Nigeria.

Joke is currently the Managing Director of Malete Film Village in Kwara State, Nigeria
