Chijioke Uwaegbute is a Partner with PwC Nigeria. He heads the Global Enterprises Tax Solutions team for West and Central Africa.
He has over 19 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, cross-border transactions and business process improvement and strategy.
He was also the executive producer of the first local (Igbo) language travel show to be shown across Africa on the Africa Magic Igbo Platform - Onye Ije the Traveller. He has also produced other short films which have been broadcast on digital networks across Africa. He was part of the pioneer edition of the Relativity Media AFRIFF capacity building initiative at the LA Central Studios in 2015. He also participated in the Nollywood meets Hollywood program.
Prior to joining PwC, he was the Sub-Saharan Africa Tax Director for General Electric (GE). In this role, he managed the tax strategy for all GE businesses operating in 17 countries across the region. In his role he also advised on the strategies around financing transactions and treasury management driving orders of over $3billion in the region.
Chijioke has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and is a chartered accountant and tax practitioner.
